Spenard Lions Clubhouse, Anchorage, 2012-2013:
The Spenard Lions Club contracted with our firm to replace their old clubhouse that they had used for several decades in Ure Park in Spenard. The process continued for a couple of years with approval of the MOA Building Department given at every stage of the project. The project was to be built alongside of Ure Park on a narrow lot owned by the Spenard Lions Club. A second scheme placed the building within the park in the exact location of the existing building owned by the MOA that was to be demolished. In the end neither scheme was built because a few neighbors objected to both plans and the MOA withdrew their previous approval of both plans.
